Redcar incident - likely?

Recommended Posts

Been in the national and local news.

http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/redcar-rape-live-updates-police-12699702

If it happened it horrific. But .... it does not smell right to me.

Woman and kid grabbed from seafront in the morning. Released 6 hours later.

'Victim ‘screaming for help’ as she was forced into the car.'

'He added that police are carrying out ‘extensive’ CCTV enquiries.'

He said the area was busy with dog walkers and potential local workers.'

Now, Id have problem had a quick reccie of CCTV tapes before going public with this.

Surely the area will have a lot of CCTV coverage - its the sea front. A quick watch of a few places should give an idea whether the attack happened or not.

Don't worry. Police are watching cctv in the hope of catching something.

Edit to say:  the timescale alone is unlikely "between 1130am and 1230pm".

Sounds dodgy to me like.

No-one in Redcar gets up before dinner-time...

I agree they should have done this prior to going public, don't know the area but if its on the seafront I would imagine that there is quite a lot not covered by CCTV, they could have the dark coloured saloon on some nearby stuff.

It does sound as though they are maybe onto something though, what that is I am not sure

I'm not sure about this one I think there might be more to it than meets the eye.

There was a story round here last year. A girl reported being abducted by two men in a silver car and then raped. After a lot of time looking into the matter the police concluded that she wasn't abducted but they were still investigating the rape. There hasn't been more about it since then. This story made me suspicious at the time and then when the police announced they thought she hadn't been abducted it made me even more suspicious.

Bizarrely enough I had exactly the same response. For some reason it just doesn't sit right. But nothing I can put my finger on... Weird.

Edit: I should say I spend a lot of time on Redcar seafront and know it very well. It's always busy and is incredibly open along its entire length. I think it's know this that makes me think the story is just... Unlikely.

I've already posted that it doesn't feel right.

however, I'm familiar with Redcar. I've walked along the beech (fabulous sandy stretch) on a Saturday and was practically on my own. It's not exactly tourist central.

Theres no 'D' in Recar, like theres no 'aithe' in Steers.

Ive just found I can edit the title.

I've generally had the opposite experience - always seems to be full of dog walkers, families, horse riders etc.

It's a shame really, Redcar could be so much more. Redcar beach is an unknown gem IMO.

Having 'Love' on their knuckles did not sound right.

Every one in Redcar has 'Acab'

It is very nice, rather like the beaches of Northumberland. As long as you don't look north...

They did build a steel mill on the beach.

Mind you, they built a nuclear power station on Hartlepools.
