Maynardgravy
Ha.... ".. Annagram Estate Agents Limited (trading as 'C J Hole') will not be fined, as long as it continues to cooperate, because it was the first company to confess." How to act like a criminal mafia organisation.... milk the system for all it's worth and then sing like a canary. Witness protection program next. billybong
. Quote What exactly have they admitted doing? The estate agents colluded to set minimum commission rates for residential property sales at 1.5 per cent, with a view to denying local homeowners selling their property the chance of securing a better deal. Is that a case of settling for a lesser charge? It must be the only instance. When it is proven the question then becomes where does it stop? Before reading the article I thought it was some form of collusion on the level of house prices which would also help to increase commission - but apparently it's not that. It would be a surprise even a shock if something similar on commission rates isn't happening elsewhere and in quite a few other places as well as Somerset. spyguy
Do EAs require indemnity insurance? I know the market for Solicitors dried up, causing prices to shoot up to stupid sums - 50K+. And down to the fact there are a lot of dodgy soliticors, causing the insurance to pay out lots. Somehting like this will bakrupt them. You can make claims for several 10k against tthem.
