Most overpriced Sh*thole

695k ffs, i rented at 1400pcm

We have been thinking of renting in that area. £1400 being our max for a 2-bedder. Cant actually srsly believe someone is asking two-thirds of a million for that.

Shocking! I used to live in the KT postcode area and used to drive to work down Oyster Lane everyday. There was one house in particular on that road that had my vote for worst positioned property ever. It was on the main road, next to the railway bridge/line, there is an electricity sub station over the road with multiple low hanging power cables, the M25 runs behind the back garden and the surrounding area is sh*t.

There should be a health warning on that price tag. In every sense of the word.

I know the house you mean. Currently half of it is boarded up, and there is a homemade 'To Let' Sign outside for the other part. The next development opportunity?

Another one just come onto the rental market. Ok, it is the cheapest way to rent a detached 'house' in Surbiton, but I am not sure many people would fancy it!

I though that this sort of thing was confined to the peak of the boom periods only. How many people are going to pay £750 per month to rent a garage at the bottom of someone's garden, when there are plenty of good flats available for the same price.

For those who really want to live in a garage, I would recommend renting this one, and putting the £650 per month to extra heating bills and eating out all the time because there is no kitchen!

How about this:

http://www.findaproperty.com/displayprop.a...amp;pid=1697479

It's not a bad house, though the interior decor could be brought out of the 1970s. However, look at the location - right under Heathrow's 3rd runway.

Of course you'd probably get to live there for 20 years during the public enquiry, but you'd never sell it. The property search would make interesting reading. :P

It is not cheap, either, is it? I always imagined this area to be super cheap (by W London/Middx standards) even without the threat of the third runway. I thought maybe £300-£350k AT PEAK for this type of house in that location.

Kicking myself now for not seeing the income potential of the shed at the bottom of my garden.:lol::lol:

Apparently, most of Sipson is going to be bought up by compulsory purchase order at '10% above market price'. Perhaps these jokers are trying to do their neighbours a favour by inflating the price?

with a little imagination...this once fine period home will make a superb 2 bedroom family home

By imagination I reckon they're hoping Neo from the Matrix will buy it.

Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Spoon boy: There is no spoon.

Neo: There is no spoon?

Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

Ha ha ha ha. Had a laugh to myself at the thought of inviting someone over for dinner to your "Detached House in Surbiton" Why not buy yourself a "Detached House" in Chertsey instead... (It could only pass as a house to people without eyes)

I think I would prefer the boat to the garage, but on balance I think I would leave them both!

70k for a bricked up terrace in North Belfast:

http://www.propertynews.com/brochure.php?r...=1&sort=h2l

This is hysterical:

"with a little imagination or hard work this once fine period home will make a superb 2 bedroom family home. The accommodation comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, kitchen and bathroom. The property is sold as seen with all contents remaining."

Look carefully and see if you can see the roof. I couldn't.

Pop the boat in the garage and you have 2 detached properties in one.

Now on at a far more reasonable £14,000,000

If you link through it gives you the option of a mortgage calculator for the £14m!

A steal on interest only at £40,717 pcm or repayment at £70,012 pcm for the 25years at 3.49%. When the rates go back up to 7% hold on :P

This is probably the cheapest sh*thole available. Nice little hut on the beach, lets hope global warming doesn't strike here

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sa...26radius%3D40.0

Similar one here, but this one is a studio flat, apparently.

I also did not know you had to pay council tax on things like this!
