Spain has appointed a ‘sex tsar’

Apparently Spanish couples are so cream crackered trying to earn a crust that they don't have enough sex to make children anymore.

Says it all really about life in general everywhere in the west, except for those who can live off the state somewhere cheap.

Feeling too stressed and overworked to have sex? Then how about we browbeat you into having some kids to add to your stress and misery. Go on, you know you owe it to all the old people who destroyed your life!

If the Spanish government thinks the falling birthrate is down to lack of sex then they are either stupid or deliberately being disingenuous.

Assuming it is similar to here it is the destruction of the typical family timeline by the impossibility of buying a small family home in your mid twenties.  The lack of that secure environment combined with the requirement for the wife to keep working to pay for their housing is not conducive to having two or three kids by the age of thirty.

Housing is relatively cheap in Spain.

Spains problem is the collapse in jobs and pay.

The long hours due to left over habis of a 3h dinner tim does not help.

Exactly.  Sex isn't exactly hard for couples to do, or that they lack the time (I think there would always be time for that).

I put it down to uncertainty.  9 years of rubbish-economy will do that to you.

I wonder what the birth rate in Greece is? 1.1 per woman according to the internet, or 1 baby less than the 2.1 required per woman to maintain an indigenous population.

Agree, people are now judged on how much they can earn, what job they can do and what home they live in and where....Far too much emphasis on money, no longer so much on strong family values, faith and strong communities.....IMO this has and is happening in many places.....Think we are getting some of the most important values in life very wrong, it will not make people feel better or lives happier......There are many lonely sad people out there.;)

I would - but Mrs XYY would cut my knackers off...!!!
