Harassment - Undercover

Recommended Posts

Saw the 'trailer' for this on ITN yesterday. I can't bare to watch it.

Got a hot blonde dolled up burd wearing tight shiny trousers on to walk around a town centre for 4 hours to see what happened.

First 3 examples they showed included a bloke saying "Hey sexy".

Oh the humanity.

Only the 4th one was a bit creepy. Bloke took (apparently) a sneaky pic of her. She called him out on it and he casually said he can take a picture in public if he wants.

No idea if this is true or not. But whilst pretty creepy - it's hardly harassment IMO.

Then they went on to say for all those thinking this is 'banter' look at this example.

Showed us a young girl who was run over by blokes on a scooter when they asked how she was and she didn't reply.

This probably occurs in 1 event like this out of 10,000. If that.

But apparently it's meant to tell us all something.

The fact men are 4 times more likely to be physically assaulted by a stranger in the street doesn't appear to be important.

I'm not sure but they made no indication they performed the same experiment with some hot model looking bloke with tight clothes on.

I'm sure he wouldn't have the same amount of cat calling. But he would certainly get some.

Again - this doesn't appear to be an issue either.

Anyway - that was just from the ITN intro. If I watch it all I may explode.

Rant over. For now. :)

Some would argue that this is all part of some sinister plan to get women to cover up.

Well, if men aren't allowed to chat up a burd in public, which appears to be the aim of the programme, then the only alternative is arranged marriages...

Indeed, to me the veil/burka appears to be a way of fencing Muslim women away from western men - no white bloke is going to even try to chat them up in th street.

I suffer from harassment

Nutcase woman who worked in the same building, sends 1000s of messages a day, phone calls, emails, facebook. There are about 20 different accounts and numbers she uses.

Its so bad that unless you are on my address list now, I will never recieve your call, email or text message. Means I miss out a lot at work related emails. Recently someone was sending me an email about 6 time to sign something and I never replied to them. It was in the junk, and you have no idea what it's like to scroll through 1000messages every time - so eventually you just dont bother.

Did you know that the maximum number of missed calls an iphone logs is 200? Once it's at that it starts overwriting them.

I've also been attacked several times at public events. Every time I see her she tries to touch me, put her hands down my trousers or attack me. Also following me around for up to an hour, just walking behind me then waiting outside my office. Throwing fruit at the office door. Stealing food when I used to eat in the staff room or canteen.

And my bike has been vandalised probably 50times... tyres deflated, lights moved, batteries taken out of lights, plastic bags and other shit tied to it etc

Also harasses my family. When I go to work I just walk into my office, lock the door, and dont leave until home time. The risk of caving my keys into her skull is too great.

This has been going on for 2 years.

Now THAT is harassment.

Been to the police 4 times and they have done nothing. Eventually I'm going to hit her and guess what will happen within a day of me doing that... In fact now that im  unemployed from 1st march i definitely will be reacting with violence if she comes within a few metres of me or any of my property.

I also complained at work and they didnt give a shit either

Christ almighty!

Restraining order or an injunction?

Edit- I'd be heading higher up the ladder with the old bill, that sounds positively shithouse.

Watched it. Half an hour of exaggeration, sensationalism, some dodgy polls, a few women's (feminist) groups - misandry.

Managed to link it to Trump - unsubtle insert at beginning. Protest by hundreds of women who'd apparently been sexually assaulted by him or something. Went downhill from there.

The two guys perving were foreign.

If only instead of Trump they'd referred to Cologne or Sweden or Rotherham...

Cheap agendered TV to shape opinions of those easily led.

She sounds like she should be in an institution.

Did you provide evidence to the police ? And if so they still ignored it ?

Cheers - glad I never watched it.

The two potential real perverts were foreign. Brilliant.

I sometimes wonder if it's not deliberate. The producers know what they can say, and what is taboo. So they'll bang on about Trump for half an hour, tick off all the other relevant "right on" boxes... and just slip in one odd reference e.g. the foreign perverts. Just enough to install some doubt, but not enough to get noticed by their masters.

A couple of SJW's did this in America, they didnt push it as much as they liked as it was mainly minorities that was doing the catcalling, I suspect that this program will have carefully chosen the area as well.

You're saying they will have chosen not to do this same "experiment" with a hot tight trousers wearing dolled up white blonde burd in a predominantly Muslim area of say Bradford or Luton ?

Shame on you !!

yes you can take photos in a public place. Some places you think are public aren't - like shopping centres.

https://www.askthe.police.uk/content/Q717.htm

It is not illegal to take photographs or video footage in public places unless it is for criminal or terrorist purposes.

There will be places where you have access as a member of the public, but will have to ask permission or may be prevented altogether. These could include stately homes, museums, churches, shopping malls, railway stations and council / government buildings. You need to check the situation out on a case by case basis.

The taking of photographs of an individual without their consent is a civil matter. Taking a photo of a person where they can expect privacy (inside their home or garden) is likely to be a breach of privacy laws. The other issue to consider is what you plan to do with the photograph afterwards. If the picture is of an individual, perhaps as a portrait or character study, and you intend to publish it in any way (on the internet, in a book or at a gallery), it would be appropriate and may avoid unnecessary complications if you ask that person for permission, many media organisations are international and will not accept an identifiable photograph of a person without a signed release. If the photo could be seen as defamatory in some way then you would leave yourself open to civil proceedings.

The country is in a heightened state of alert (and will be for many years) because of potential terrorist attacks. So called 'soft targets' are particularly vulnerable. Security staff, the general public and police are much more aware of anyone taking photographs and you may be approached by someone, such as the police, when you are taking photographs near or in potential targets. Generally the police cannot seize the camera or memory card unless you are committing an offence or suspected of terrorist activity.

Finally, it is a specific offence to elicit information (which would include photographs) about members of armed forces, police officers or the intelligence services, which is likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, or publishes or communicates information of that kind. The law does not state that the person who gets the information has to use the information for terrorism purposes, just that the information is likely to be useful to a terrorist. There is a defence of 'reasonable excuse' for this offence, but it would be for the suspect / defendant to raise this matter.

Photographers need to be aware of this provision and be cautious when taking such photographs. The sort of occasion when it could cause a problem may be, for example, at an anti-war protest, when there may be a number of counter terrorism and intelligence operatives working in the area. If an officer makes an arrest for this offence it could cause a lot of unnecessary time wasted for both the officer and yourself, albeit that may only be until the facts are clarified.

More not-so-subtle shaming of male sexuality. Once again why I don't watch TV or pay a TV license.

The great irony is that the only people who this will effect will be already-shy Beta males, making them even less likely to approach women in clubs. The alphas will continue with less competition than ever.

On a more sinister level I have to wonder who is trying to make women scared of men, and also to suggest men are so dangerous, and what their agenda is.

I see this stuff all the time now to the point where I feel like I'm paranoid.... heck even the new Lego Batman movie had Batman as a bit of a fool alongside a strong know-it-all utterly perfect female character.

Thanks for that info. So even the one bloke who could be described as doing something a bit creepy - was perfectly within his rights.

Considering her having a go at him when he actually seemed to know his rights - means she was actually the one causing 'harassment' and not him ?

The guy with the camera - a big camera, you know with a zoom lens you could be a mile away and perving - was a few feet away, enough to be filmed in the act. Could well have been staged. Woman was covered up too - wearing trousers. It was all a bit odd.

Funny how things change. There were photographers in the 60s and 70s going round taking photos of urban life (including kids playing), now lauded as important records of lives past. Normal not staged or 'look at me' type. Facebook is full of nostagia sites with photos of people and places. Odd how repressed we all are now; how unnatural things have become.

I worked at a university and I dont have the money and it wont achieve anything. The department head at least tried to stop it but I got bored of complaining, all it did was make me look bad. I waited 1 year before i complained but after the 4th time it just looks bad on you - especially when you just lock your door and dont come out/miss emails because they all go to junk etc. Even avoid coming into work unless its for a meeting/have to use the lab because its a such a hassle to deal with it. Some 'professors'  however didnt give a shit.

This nutter isnt even employed anymore but still turns up most days to walk around looking for me, so at least when her contract ended the department head blocked any funding for her to get a new one. But the problem is she still walks around the premises looking for me and vandalising my property. And of course still 1000s of emails and messages and phone calls, clogging up my phone and inbox and drowning out any important ones

I dont care anymore anyway, Im just going to cave her skull in if she comes anywhere near me again because there is no job to lose anymore

It was just an example to show how BS this show must be. A few strangers saying hello is not and never will be harassment

THIS.

Also, whenever reporting to Police ALWAYS ALWAYS get a 'hate' angle in if you can.  Is she a different religion to you?  race?  ethnicity?  then say clearly that you feel she is targetting you because of that.  Becomes a crime the police have to records and much more likely to act on.

I sympathise as i have been on the receiving end of something like this (though nowhere near as bad).

The important thing to do is to get it all legally and official logged etc so that the authorities know what is going on and know that the woman in question has a history.

This makes it harder for her to twist things later, if things should come to a head. But please, please realise that any act of violence against her will just make things much worse for you. I'm sure you know this already. But if you do 'crack' then she has won.

Best of luck.
