Why is Halifax survey not dropping like nationwide is?

Nationwide survey has dropped markedly recently but Halifax has resisted the drop... Why? Is it just the pop rippling out from London has not reached the rest of england yet?

Isn't it something along the lines of Halifax being traditionally more northern biased? Also pro buy to let... The pop certainly hasn't rippled out to where I am near Stoke at the moment.

Aah are they more BTL focussed? Maybe the rush for the exits is more delayed outside of London.

Halifax has been a bit erratic, I'd be very surprised if the December 1.7% increase isn't reflected in a very poor showing for January. They could, of course, downgrade December.

I can't remember the source, but some regular report has a comparison of indices, and apart from the old ONS index which was highly flawed, Halifax always overestimates.
