Trump was selected to save the Financial System

Recommended Posts

After a few days of trying to figure this out, this seems plausible. Do remember we are still at emergency FED rates - it will take an emergency action to rectify it. The Fed have no bullets in the chamber for when the next time financial crisis occurs. This makes sense, he is playing the "baddie". There will be pain and blood on the streets, but Interest rates will rise back to normal levels under his rein.

Not that it's an "out there" idea, but I said as much last October before he got elected :

Since he became president, it's played out like a Pantomime.  Even the SJW reaction looks utterly contrived - this really is some kind of foreplay to a massive systemic crash, and Trump will be blamed for it.

I think I saw your thread back in October and it echoed thoughts that I'd been having myself. Perhaps even a willing fallguy: I increasingly get the sense that he's genuinely only doing it for his fragile ego and general sh!ts and giggles. He wants to go down in history and doesn't really care about what he's remembered for.

Haven't watched these videos yet, but am interested to see what, if anything, confirms that he will be the patsy for something big... Could well believe it.

Hmm either he will be the fall guy or be a tremendous success. This is the greatest show on earth - well, better than WWE.

I sure don't want to work in the White House right now. No place for a slacker!

(I've never watched the show.)

First season  was quite good. He even came across as normal. Better than bell end ******** Sugar.

I was beginning to think like this. More contrived than Grand Tour 'banta'.

the over egged reactions from both alt right and the neoliberal left have been beyond parody.

On the contrary - he's their inside man. Repealing what little controls on casino banking were put in place after 2008 as we speak.

And with an executive recruited from Wall Street

The rape and pillage continues.

I laugh my @ss off at posters who think "he's different/fighting for the little man/taking back control from the elites"

That's the tragedy of this post truth/fake news/lurch to the populist right clusterfck - you can't criticise a ego-centric buffoon like Trump without drawing a ton of flak and being labelled a lefty-liberal snowflake

For the record I thought Obama was underwhelmingly ineffective and Clinton an unelectable warmongering megolomaniac, but hey-ho

Aye, we're into a post-fact, post-critical thinking age. Exactly what the elites wanted.

I was just thinking about how the TPTB hundreds of years ago - the Churches and the Feudal Kings/Lords - did everything they could to stop the masses from learning to read & write and also having the Bible translated into their own languages. The invention of the printing press brought about enormous change in this regard and so helped to bring about the Reformation and Enlightenment.

Now, the Internet is the printing press of today but the modern-day establishment TPTB seem have succeeded in hijacking schools & colleges to turn out generations of idiots.

To add, that with so much media out there and the fact that anyone with a pc can start a blog/twitter/youtube/webpage/facebook etc, that what little quality and noble investigative reporting still exists, it is being drowned  in a tsunami of worthless, misdirecting, mis/uninformed and unverifiable sh!t under the banner of the democratisation of the media

The repeal of Dodd-Frank is crucial here. Not the fact that he has repealed it: that is still ambiguous, since (as Spyguy said), it was the Wall Street insiders' response to the financial crisis, so was not strong enough legislation.

What is important is what it gets replaced by, and that will force Trump to show his hand. As soon as it's clear if the new legislation is weaker or stronger, we will know whether Trump is in the pocket of the financiers ... or otherwise.
