I'm not sure why this is even being reported in the first place, but, wow, they can really go for the long haul.

A leading dentist had sex in his office while a colleague was trying to console a grieving student next door, a tribunal was told.

Dr Alec High had sex with the woman at the University of Leeds for more than two years between January 2013 and March 2015, the General Dental Council (GDC) heard on Monday.

I don't understand the problem -- are they not allowed to have sex in their offices?  Seems a bit restrictive.  In these days of office w*nkbooths I'd have thought sex in the office would be encouraged...

Anyway, I suppose dentists are discouraged from early extractions these days.  In the olden days he'd have whipped it out before she'd noticed he'd started.

Me neither.

Thought it was part of a dentist's job to fill-up people's cavities...

Interesting - does a "session" continue after the couple sleep and he hasn't erm....finished? Is this a Guinness Book of Records rule? Maybe he was impotent for over 2 years, then finally cured his impotence?

" This occasion was a particularly serious one as she was dealing with an upset student who had suddenly lost her grandmother "

For crying out loud what on earth are universities doing spending money on employing full-time counsellors for what is, ostensibly, grown adults own personal grief issues.

This doesn't mean universities should be insensitive to students personal issues (e.g. taking bereavement losses into accounf as extenuating circumstances for poor exam performance, etc IF a student so wishes to claim)

BUT IF a student is feeling the need for such advice/counselling/support/whatever....then she should seek it from public social services or pay privately.  Universities should be in the business of teaching/research and not 'sideline' activities such as counselling.
