Look out tower for sale

Recommended Posts

Would make a very good place to transmit medium wave from - it looks like someone may have done that already, look at the vertical wire running down on the right hand side. Actually a good transmitting site all round, rent it out to comms providers for some bob.

Mentioned in the brochure:

Quote

The first 4 floors each feature a bedroom with en suite bathroom, with the remaining floors left unoccupied save for 3 of the upper floors currently Let to various telecommunications providers as an obvious site for their transmitters (the current commercial income equates to an annual of some £34,000 pa).

I guess the £34k pays a bit of the mortgage.

I note 14 floors, lower 4 as bedrooms, 14th as the cupola, 3 used for the telecoms.  So, plenty of opportunities to expand upwards into the remaining floors... for those with strong knees.

A perfect abode to hand out as a grace and favour flat for the Bank of England CEO, so he can look out for inflation and look over it when it arrives.  The front entrance even looks like a lady's front entrance, so he should feel right at home. They can even name it Vigilance!

Tbh the swimming pool would bother me the most, even more than the fact that from floor one up the accommodation is pretty useless. The owner just couldn't help himself when it came to chaving it up and creating short life, high maintenance, money eating features. The tennis court appeals  and the rest of the groundfloor space looks quite impressive though.

I didn't read the brochure. Well there you go. 34k is a lot, must be mobile phone antennas on there too. I wouldn't want to be living there with that above my head - health risks at 1800 MHz

Yeah.  And you're probably restricted from setting out the bedrooms as Faraday cages as well (would muck up their radiation patterns).  I wouldn't like it.

Although, thinking about it, the GHz stuff would likely be at the 10th-14th floor, so there probably wouldn't be much radiation pointing directly downwards (unless they really mucked up the beam forming).  If I was interested I'd go there with a radiation meter and check it out.

Good candidate for the Most Overpriced Shithole thread then!

You don't need a radiation meter... a bunch of weeds will do...
