SW8 new builds bought to be lived in

Recommended Posts

I was informed yesterday by a mid sixties relative that all the new properties in SW8 are being snapped up by wealthy chinese to .... wait for it .... live in!!! The evidence was that they saw lots of wealthy chinese people on the train going into London.

Any up to date articles/graphs that I can counter this with? Thanks.

The international wealthy don't strike me as the type to commute on the train.

I did suggest they were tourists, estate agents or investors ... and was laughed at.

I'll keep a look out on My daily commute along Nine Elms. It's busier than before, but I don't recall any Chinese commuters.

Years ago I also thought all Arabs are loaded with oil money, coming to London and shop only in Harrods, until I saw many of them shopping in Primark.

I live in one of the few complete buildings and while there are a few Chinese around (mainly students) the majority are not. However when going around looking at flats to rent I did ask who the landlords were and they were, without fail, far eastern or middle eastern.
