Richmond By-election loser Zac

Recommended Posts

Very frustrating that media is portraying Zac Goldsmiths loss as a vote to remain in the EU. Tim Farron is clutching at straws. I am a brexiteer.

I can tell you that a large volume of my community voted against Zac Goldsmith rather than "vote for Lib dem" because of his disgraceful racist malicious campaign during the London mayor elections. Also he is a rich little boy completely out of touch of what us ordinary folk needed.

This was NOT a vote to remain. It was two fingers to Zac

As a resident of that constituency and a Leave voter I see the Lib Dem win as a vote to remain. It's not rocket science. The way I see it is that until Brexit happens and quite possibly beyond, people will not be voting for a party, rather they will be voting for Leave or Remain. Considering the percentage of Remain/Leave votes in the referendum I'm surprised the Lib Dems didn't win by even more. It might even be a sign that the Leave side is weakening.

What it is definitely not a sign of is how the majority will vote.

..well obviously it was a vote for Remain (if there is still an EU in which to remain) when 70% voted that way in the referendum ..you deserve the Lib Dems ...it is an elitist area and fits well with the Lib Dem elites....good luck ..the rest of us will get on with freeing the UK from the shackles of the unelected elite ruling the EU ...and no matter what anyone says you cannot do it from within....
