Central Bankers Salaries

Recommended Posts

A piece from the Irish Times on the salaries paid to central bank governors. Although EZ centric, you'll be pleased to know that Carnage gets a mention.

Considering the key role they play in determining the cost of living for us, should they have such lucrative salaries? We have all heard the well worn lines about having to pay for 'talent', however they are well positioned to gain lucrative opportunities after they step down.

No wonder Carney isn't on the graphic....£480K basic plus housing costs as well.
Add in a few more perks , I imagine.....that's shocking.

The Cons govt can talk about pay restraint , all in it together etc, but until they reign in these civil service mega salaries I'll assume it's all hot hair.

And while I'm at it, the Royal Navy. Only 19 ships to defend the country ?
OK, why is the MOD / Govt paying for all these shore based admirals then ?
Market forces for the majority (ie. mugs), cushy lifestyles for the elite...twas ever thus.

Public service..expect he will get an honour for his sacrifice.  Honestly it is grotesque greed and it says a lot about our society that this is tolerated as 'just the way it is'.
