How do I work out HMRC advisor fuel rates?

Recommended Posts

Can someone help me.

Privately owned diesel car with an engine capacity of 1,950cc used for business at 10,000 miles per annum, company pays 11p.

Do we get tax relief on the 11-45 so 34p multiplied by the 40% higher rate so 13.6p repaid on every mile?? So confusing.

Thank you HPC massive.

When I was checking the payroll / P11Ds at a co. I left in 2012 we used to pay 40p per mile and put miles * (45-40) as a negative balance on the P11D.

So... I would ask your payroll what they are going to put on your P11D.

(I'm not saying this was right; but HMRC always accepted it, maybe because it was a small balance and few people would have done tax returns; I did but still had a net positive balance and didn't have a problem any year).

Use to be 40 p as mentioned ,you would then get 20% of the total back not sure if you would get 40% if a higher rate tax payer

Be aware that any mileage travailing to and from your place of work can not be claimed for
