I think I'm being lied to all the time, am I mad?

You think you've got it bad. I can't watch any new films or listen to any new music. TV and radio is out. Any novels published in the past 15 years are unreadable. Newspapers and magazines are junk.

Cultural Marxism is rife throughout Western culture to the point that I've turned my back on society and am considering becoming Amish. Or, maybe I really am going mad.

That's one of the reasons this site is so useful.

For sure it won't be the only one.

It allows you to identify the lies as and when they happen especially relating to the housing/house price market.  It's one of the reasons they don't enjoy the freedom of expression.  They try to ignore the exposure of the dissonance but they can't ignore the relentlessly increasing effects it's having on the ballot box.

I am completely mad - and proud of it.

And so is my wife...

I suspect that it is the world that is mad.

In reading The History of Nations, we find that, like individuals, they have their whims and their peculiarities, their seasons of excitement and recklessness, when they care not what they do. We find that whole communities suddenly fix their minds upon one object and go mad in its pursuit; that millions of people become simultaneously impressed with one delusion, and run after it, till their attention is caught by some new folly more captivating than the first..........Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one.

My only source of current affairs news is Spiked... Very very good, highly recommended.

For business and economics news I use HPC ... Always a steady flow of of links posted.

I don't watch TV at all. Films wise I'm working through the Empire top 500 and "1000 films to watch before you die".

Books - every so often I find or remember a classic I've never read and  E.g. Thomas Hardy, or Steinbeck. I do read anything released by Lee Child... Escapism at its best.

I do have moments (weeks!) of panic when I doubt reality like you do... As if everything is a sham... And I feel like the only one who has noticed.

It's not only the media... I've got to a point where I simply refuse to believe information from sources such as the ONS, when was the last time they released figures that contradicted any of the government propaganda?

Just one brief example,  according to ONS figures the average full time take home pay in Wales is over £1,800 pcm... I would confidently bet all I've got that there are entire towns in Wales where not one single person takes home £1,800pcm. If there is any truth at all to this statistic then it must be as a result of a very small number of very high earners dragging the average pay up and skewing the figures.

Less lied, ore an issue version being followed.

Im not some tinfoil hatter but I rarely watch the BBC national news.

I half listen to PM which certainly has its agenda moments.

Local news is OK.

I stopped as the BBC is very unsatisfactory - it concentrates on little things say UK politics, and glosses over big things.

This morning they are giving way too much weight to NHS and BMC again. BMC is a fkcing union, of course its going to say DRs are underpaid and overworked and gloss over and large non performance issues.

The migrant and Calais reporting was disgusting. Why no questions about where all the women are? No curiosity on ages. Why are they wanting to come here rather than the other 35+ EU countries -esp. the non English speaking ones?

The agenda thing carries on with Wildlife progs now.

I was watching Autumn watch. Black woman did a slot on spiders. Than a (southern) Black man did a feature of wildlife in Sheffield city centre. Not wanting to take any credit  from either presenter, who were fine, why not have a Northerner do the Sheffield segment? Could have been a black Northerner, we do have quite a few.

Less the mad, but I do get the feeling I have a very different tastes to the UK average population.

Never watched that Dancing show, or the cooking show, or much in the way of light entertainment on the evenings.

Maybe they'll get my eyeballs back when they start Britains Great Porn Off - 10 busty 18 yo compete to see who's the UKs top jizz bunny.

no you are not mad.

the same "goebbels" techniques are being employed today in the media, that were present in nazi germany.

constant repetition(news feeds on loop)

mind-numbing drivel of little consequence(strictly,jeremy kyle,x factor)

dumbing down of eduaction/university

we have yet to witness a new kristallnacht, but I think this one is being done by stealth, where all the books are subtly being replaced by kindles(interesting name ie kindling..stuff you start fires with),which at some stage will develop some kind of virus in the OS.

Hmm local radio is similar.

Just listening to BBC Tees. Theyve spent a good 10 minutes about letting some healthcare worker whinge about the consolidation of GP surgeries.

Local radio is obsessed with hospitals and illness; some minor report or bit of news about often makes the lead story and then gets covered in detail.  The local Unison rep seems to have his own chair in the studio, pushing the usual line that supporting the NHS is about maintaining pay and conditions for its staff and this always goes unchallenged.

Journalists and media are supposed to uncover the truth and expose lies, the 4th estate and all that.  Instead they hide the truth and tell lies.  If you sat down and watched / read the media all day, your emotions would be appealed-to perhaps a 1000 times in that day: the media want to tell you how you should feel.  Believe me, if there were any women in the Calais jungle, they would have been the story because women are a classic white-knight (for men) and classic me-too (for women) appeal to emotion.  Instead, it was all 30+ year old blokes, so they pretended some of them were children in order to appeal to emotion.  Every time I listen to an outlet like the BBC, the presenter sounds like they're in some kind of mental straight-jacket - unable to veer off-message for even a second.

What worries me is how utterly gullible the younger generations are.  They're so uncynical and compliant.  They consume the X-factor and Facebook without any kind of rebellion.  You could give them anything and they'd be OK with it.  I am 100% positive they've done something with diesel, or the water system, or even the food.

It's odd because it was never like that when I was a kid in the late 70's and 80's.

On the News issue, I suspect it's always been like this, however spreading a message always used to be the preserve of the media only, now we have so much access to other channels of communication we can see behind the curtain. Take the migrant camp, in the past it would have been reported by the BBC and ITN only and they can say "women and children" and you would have no reason to disbelieve them, now however you get outside influence and multiple media agencies showing different stories and videos.

Given the amount of shagging that goes on between the pros and stars it already is isn't it?

Are they really?

For example, I'm mid-life, cynical... but I'm very careful as to what I write on Facebook or what I say within earshot of my family. For example, commenting on the callused hands of the Calais "children" is a guaranteed way of upsetting friends and family.

I guess that if you're one of the "younger generation", it's even worse. They are immersed in social media, and anything other than happy-clappy-SJW thoughts are a taboo. So they grit their teeth and take part in the daily Two Minutes Hate.

They force us to repeat the lie. We know they're lying, they know we know they're lying, yet we dutifully repeat the lie. It's a way to demoralise people and make them compliant.

If you break out you may lose everything but you will gain back your self-respect.

I've been on whole day Equality and Diversity courses, everybody knows that they are they to teach you the correct things to say and what not to say and to provide a tick box for the company when it comes to government grants.  I personally advance their E&D credentials by (falsely) claiming to be ethnic on the annual staff survey.
