"Cut stamp duty to revive housing market, says estate agency"

https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/oct/11/cut-stamp-duty-revive-housing-market-estate-agents-property-prices-haart?CMP=share_btn_tw

" Haart urges government to help reverse sluggish pace of activity after drop in house prices in September "

Which drop was that ?

" Haart, which has more than 100 branches across England, said UK house prices had dropped by 1.1% in September compared with a month earlier.  "

Sorry all I see around me is houses that won't sell due to being over priced.

Any house sensibly priced sells in days (witnessed it with a house next to us, sold in 2 days as priced correctly).

Changing stamp duty won't solve the fact they have spent the last 15 years over valuing houses so their inventory is of no interest to anyone.

Sensibly priced or less insanely prices ?

I figure they are just begging for more state hand outs...or maybe the Foxton and countrywide share prices tell a tale.

I'm up north - it was sensible priced (10% less than the last equivalent price in the street, 18% less than the 2005 sale price).

Still over priced on most fundamentals (5* average earnings and 5.2% return if a rental) but sensibly priced compared to most things.

When they are sleeping in the back of those ridiculously branded cars and eating in soup kitchens, I may feel a smidge of sympathy for the condescending c¥nts. But until then, f¥ck 'em.

You couldn't make it up - well they do.

On the bright side that would be about 13% annually.
