Landlord fined. Net worth and assets

Recommended Posts

The Stockport-based firm, which has a net worth of more than £10m and assets of £24m according to Companies House records, was fined a total of £108,000 for 12 separate offences.

Earlier this year, Beckhall Properties was ordered to pay £12,400 after being found guilty of breaching a number of management regulations following a council probe.

Bosses were twice given the chance to talk with council chiefs, but failed to attend an interview.

Can someone a bit better at finances explain how you can have a 'net' worth of 10m and assets of 24m...

And at what point are they declared unfit to be landlords?

This is the point that all the registration schemes fail to address - they have powers to deal with rogue landlords but need to enforce them and ultimately someone like this needs to be stopped from being responsible for people's homes.
