No and as those that seem to get the most are in charge, I don't for a minute think they will even be asked to.

my guess is that this is the first in a long line of articles that explain how stupid/corrupt/inefficient/unfair/costly etc the EU is and that we are far better on our own.  Then, once the dust has settled, it will be business as normal

They were never going to continue giving farmers the same silly subsidies the EU insisted on.

This is just a PR exercise in getting the public  on side with the cuts.  Politics of envy etc.

You don't surely don't think a little thing like Brexit is going to separate the troughers' snouts from the swill?

Absolutely. There'll probably be super-injunctions to prevent people knowing about it. Nobody does secrecy quite like we do.

There was a report on countryfile about how farm payments are going to stop. But sadly they competely missed the point as they ranted on about declining wildlife levels and how that will get worse when payments stop.

Well as the declining wildlife levels have got worse whilst payments have been made, it can't do much worse than stopping them and seeing what happens.

Quite.

In addition 'food' or what passes for it is cheaper today than it has ever been.

Heretical i know, but why not try the novel idea of free markets in all areas.  Take out CAP, tax credits, housing props, and lets see where things settle?  Then if working people can't pay their own way, feed, house and clothe themselves, we know that the system is broken and start doing something about it.

the way it is going, we're all going to be special cases
