Halifax Mortgage Affordability Calculator

Recommended Posts

Try this affordability calculator.

Put in an annual income figure, then in the "Monthly credit commitments" box put £0 or £0.00 and see what happens.

Halifax

Obviously someone with no loans, credit cards or store cards is not something the Halifax has ever come across before.

Computer says no.

Try loans at 0.0000001 and it simply multiplies your income by 2.5 and 4.0.

Max x4? How can anyone buy a house on that?

I put in my annual income as £0.0001, and my monthly commitments as £0.001 and computer said

"Your monthly credit commitments equal or exceed your annual household income"

Who says the Halifax are irresponsible lenders........

On an FTB income of 24,000 it says "The amount you can borrow is between £59,970 and £95,952.."

What if you want to borrow less than £59,970?
