Early Day Motion To Stop Letting Agents Charging Tenants Fees

Recommended Posts

Just got email from Generation Rent with this link, which enables you to check whether your MP has signed an early day motion calling for a ban on letting agent charging fees to tenants and, if they haven't signed, send them an email asking them to do so. Given the number of registered private landlords in Parliament, hmm, BUT let's not think like that - pessimism of the mind, optimism of the will and all that, got to start somewhere...

If this doesn't directly concern you, just think about the effect a properly regulated private rental sector would have on house prices.

Done. My MP, Corbyn, hadn't signed it :D

That's rather interesting.

Done, but my MP is a Boomer Tory who I wrote to before about improving private renting and who replied with a load of guff about Stamp Duty and HTB so I'm not optimistic.

I think that in Scotland they abolished these fees already but I emailed my local MP about it anyway

Yep they have. However much I want the SNP to shrivel up and die - this is one thing they got right.

Done, although don't expect much from my scum bag labour mp who's voted against increasing the income tax personal allowance but consistently voted for increasing every single benefit. Labour really are a pieces of s*** unless your a life long benefit scrounger.
