Btl Is The Answer For Ftb's

Recommended Posts

"They are actually better off in commercial terms, because they're in the property market and paying off their mortgage while still living somewhere affordable."

This isnt that different to buying a place and renting out rooms to mates - and I think there have always been quite a lot of FTB's who have taken this route.

The current problem is how the hell do these FTB's get a mortgage big enough to buy somewhere?!! Simple problem but a rather restrictive one.. some lenders have been tightening up with BTL mortgages recently, so that wont help matters.

Bottom line property prices are simply too high and its not sustainable, these last gasp efforts being suggested just re-inforce that view!

same as renting rooms out to mates, thats my eventual plan. Ive done the maths, and its ALOT less to houseshare off a landlord in my area as rents are lower than houseprices, when this changes Im buying....

What happens to rental supply when more people are sharing/forced to share/people renting out spare rooms etc etc?
