Nationwide Inviding Mortgage Overpayments

I recieved our annual mortgage statement today from Nationwide and in it was a leaflet extolling the benefits of overpayment! Not something I'd expect from a lender.

As it happens we have been overpaying the maximum amount each month (it's a fixed rate deal) ever since interest rates dropped below average levels. Essential in a "low inflation" situation ;)

I wonder why they are sending these out now - they never have before.........

I have recently withdrawn a five figure sum from my 'overpayment reserve' on my Nationwide mortgage to add to my portfolio of gold mining shares (don't want to say exactly how much in case the buggers identify me).
