15% off advertised house prices

Yes it’s true! After receiving yet another EA card through the door for “Mr & Mrs Ordinary are looking for a house just like yours in your road” etc.

I telephoned them to enquire as to the state of the property market.

They seemed very enthusiastic to come and do a free no obligation valuation and that they always needed new stock for their books.

On enquiring about moving back up the ladder, but waiting for the differential to reduce, they said that I’d be surprised and that offers of 15% below asking price were now the norm in the current market conditions and that I shouldn’t be afraid of making offers!

I presume that they’ll now be valuing new properties to suit.
