Was browsing EA windows today and saw a sale of a 1/4 share for 50K. Private sale board, just like all the others in the window.

I have never seen anything like this in an EA before, only in the 'investment opportunities' sections of newspapers.

Any comments??

I personally could not stand to live in a flat as it is to close to possible problems- but owing have a ¼ share with 3 nightmare tenants – although it might be ok for a student let?

I think it just shows how desperate people are to own properties and how mad prices are

When someone buys a share in a property through these shared ownership housing schemes then if they want to sell they can sell their share privately or through and EA just like you sell any home.

The Housing Association will have to 'pass' the new buyer and will need to ensure that the new buyer pays the rent on the remaining share.

It isn't unheard of and I have seen a few of these for sale in my time - not just recently.
