Btl Moaner On Letters Page

Someone bemoaning the charge Manchester City Council are making for landlords. A registration fee and then an annual charge for checking the gas certificate ...

Letter said it was £250 I think for registering and then £60 annual charge.

HMO licencing:

Other licensing is discretionary – meaning we can insist on licensing. This would cover smaller HMOs if we think poor management is causing problems for the occupants or their neighbours. We can also use ‘selective’ licensing so that all landlords in a certain area will need a licence – for example where there’s a low demand for housing, or where there are significant anti-social behaviour problems.
