Goodbye Mr. Bond!

Recommended Posts

Was watching a program about the films of the year and the ones coming up in 06.

Latest bond film was not made in the UK "due to tax reasons".

I wonder if the brain drain has already started as Uncle Gordon's money grabbing schemes take their effect?

Happy ney year everyone.

James.

PS I really believe that NOW is the time to get out of sterling.

Seems that we are back to where we were in the 1970's with young professionals leaving the UK for greener pastures. Then it was obsessive taxation by the pocket-money mentality of Dennis Healy, today its Gordon's rampant capitalism as manifested in HPI driving the young and talented out to places where they can afford life's most basic need: an affordable home.

If the GDP goes negative in 2006 run for the hills as sterling may test 1980's bottoms. It hit $1.05!

The tax reason would be them no longer getting huge tax breaks. I believe the scheme was removed since it was being fraudulently milked by the unscrupulous members of the film industry, who ended up making films elsewhere, or not at all.
