Estate Agent's Strategies For 2006

EAs are far from the sharpest tools in the box. From the fancy girl at 'upmarket' Savills to the semi-literate yob in the average firm these people are seriously DIM.

Expect, therefore, to see the maximum application of 'perverse logic' to their sales strategies for 2006. We will see asking prices rise even higher in the futile hope that EAs can somehow circumscibe the laws of gravity for yet another year. The result, of course, is that the standoff between buyers and sellers will intensify and transactions will decrease even further.

Will they read the runes? Unlikely in my view; they are far too thick.

when you say seriously dim,I'd put it a bit more politely and say 6 months behind the curve.

basically it means we will see them bleating on about the IR rise and the war as if it came completely out of the blue.....that's in july.

they are probably less up to speed on the crash than the vendors themselves.
