One of the main broadsheets in Australia published a listing of every postcode in the country today with current median sale prices, 12 month change and 10 year compound change. Some 12 month numbers are negative, but not as many as you might think. Most of the 10 year numbers are between 8% and 12%.

(Australian postcodes cover larger areas and populations than the UK, so this list wasn't impossibly long.)

I can see right now how the RE boosters here are going to use the 10-year numbers to try and suck more people into BTL in a market trending downwards. "Look at the 10-year appreciation; you'll make a fortune in the long term." :angry:
