Police Officers Shot In Baton Rouge

Recommended Posts

Sounds like a targetted attack:

Several streets near the state capital's police headquarters have been shut down as officers hunt for the gunmen.

A witness told WBRZ News that a man was dressed in black with his face covered shot indiscriminately as he walked between a convenience store and a car wash early on Sunday morning.

& near the State Capital's Police Headquarters?

Lying in wait? Ambush?

Not meaning to make a joke here, but it could have been a store where Police went for doughnuts and coffee.

7 Police shot. One shooter down but manhunt for second shooter. So, planned between accomplices.

Blimey this is BIG!

Yes they wouldn't have all been in one Police vehicle so very likely visiting the local shop near the Police station?

7 shot? they must have been armed surley?

Do they take their guns home?

Convienience store is a "Circle K" from the pics here:

Relaxed. Having a break. Perhaps sat in their cars drinking coffee. Or standing in a group chatting... and someone walks up and opens up on them. All over in seconds.

Were those involved with the shooting of Alton Sterling taken off duty?

Or still working at this Headquarters?

The Sun:

Cops were lured to shopping centre,

Cops were called to the area after he was seen strolling along Airline Highway armed with an assault rifle.

When they arrived, the man opened fire targeting all Baton Rouge police officers in an apparent ambush.

The gunman is believed to have been shot after a brief stint on the loose.

Terrorism?

Police reported to be seaching nearby woodland for a gunman as the shooting at the shopping mall commenced.

This was not a come at police shooting," the witness said. "There were men out here shooting at each other before police ever got here.

Police are investigating a report of two men dressed in all black at a Walmart store, it is reported.

The pair are believed to have changed clothes after visiting the Port Allen shop, according WAFB.

One suspect has been shot dead - but two others may still be on the loose, officials say.

I lived in the US for a year, in california. The basic philosopy out there is have nothing to do with the cops if you can avoid it. I was drinking coffee outside a coffee shop once in santa barbara. A cop drove round and stared at me. I admit i got a bit worried. he drove around and did it again. I started to get really worried. in their system if you get charged you are going down and that is really really not good.

If they have one presumably, via mobile phone conversations and internet conversations, they will get a good idea of whom the other two are.

Aren't all gun's rather lethal??? And how much training is needed to be able to point and shoot a AR-15 competently?

#

The AR-15 is probably the most commonly owned rifle in the US by Joe Public. There are various varieties but, basically, if someone has been shooting one for years in a range they will be competent enough.

The below video is done by a guy who is a superb shot - you should watch some of his pistol shooting - but around 5 minutes in you get an idea of what a zeroed in AR-15 can do.

He talks about how easy an AR-15 is to shoot and talks about how you do not wish to be outgunned.
