The father-of-two who has to tell police 24 hours before he has sex - despite being CLEARED of rape
John O'Neill, of York, was tried for rape and cleared after a retrial at Teesside Crown Court in November. But police then controversially applied for a Sexual Risk Order (SRO), with a condition that he inform them 24 hours before he has sex with a new partner. Mr O'Neill today attended the hearing of a court case he hopes will overturn the order which he says infringes his human rights.

Is the Wail being misleading with this for effect? How do you know you are going to have sex in 24 hours, if he reports he is and doesn't is that wasting police time? What happens if you just fancy quicky?

If this is as reported it seems unworkable.

I have to plan sex at least 48 hours in advance because that's how long it takes me to get it up. :(

Those dodgy pills take some time to arrive, eh?

The truly disturbing thing about this, and similar legislation, is that the restriction can be placed upon you even if you have never committed a crime/been found guilty of a crime!

Another case of us being led to hell by good intentions.

Do our MPs simply not stop to think at all about the consequences of the garbage they vote on???!!! The irony being that, given the long standing reputation of many Westminster inhabitants being of wide and varied sexual proclivities, it wouldn't surprise me to see some of them come a cropper by being slammed with such SROs. Only then will they probably rush to repeal/reform this sort of 'guilty until proven innocent' legislation.

Surely you just game this like people game credit offers.

Email the police every morning saying you might be having sex that day.

Job done.

That would be too late. You'd need to do it say each lunch time for the following day.
