New Cabinet

I'm liking a lot of this.

Firstly having a specific Minister for Brexit and then appointing the superb David Davis.

Then appointing Boris into the usual hone of total dullards the Foreign Office (remember Douglas Hurd). That will be, interesting at least.

And giving the omnishambling smug one the boot. Bye George.

Yes, I'm in a positive mood, soon to be dashed by Carney.

Still, it's nice to be in good spirits even for a brief moment.

Looks like May's support for Remain was 100% faux, (or a shrewd each way bet).

I posted on another thread that from her lengthy spell in the Home office, May may be very pro Brexit under the covers. Didn't Cameron's ex PR officer say Cameron would also be naturally pro Brexit?

The Government's Remain campaign was simply the Government's campaign. Cameron had said he wouldn't stand again, and so I am sure post Brexit had all been talked about, if not exactly, planned. Personally, I think the post Brexit transition has been handled with tactical precision.

Hammond is a worry, but properly managed he may prove to be a safe pair of hands.

I agree, he's my only reservation, 'wince' so far. But I want to be optimisitic as I need that to feel work is worthwhile.

Boris will be excellent Foreign Secretery - British eccentricity goes a long way.

I'm equally glad that David Davis has been given that role.

If he was PM in the first place, we'd be in a very different place right now.

There was a person on here earlier in the week saying May was a closet Brexiter playing the long game. He may have been right. Sorry can't remember the username

That'll be fun, arguing with Labour. which contains a lot of private schooled MPs.

Jesus. Look at the shadow cabinet.

Quite a lot of big names have ended up on the back bench, could this come back to haunt her?

Blatant inverted snobbery.

93% of the UK population is state educated. Cameron's government was running the country for the benefit of people like them.

When an Eton-educated PM fills the Cabinet up with former public schoolboys, what is that called? Inverted inverted snobbery? Plain old snobbery? Recruiting on merit?
