Some tools I've found really useful in finding an area to live.

Anybody else know of any good ones?

a) Deprivation map explorer

A Visual map of how deprived an area is, where deprived is a combination of high employment, low income, job availability, crime, access to local amenities and green environment.

Backed by the government's deprivation index which tracks the level of employment, income, crime, local amenities and green environment in an area.

I've been using it to anchor areas I am familiar with for comparisons.

B)Numbeo crime comparison

Not all cities are listed but can be helpful.

c) Walkonomics

User and bot created reviews of areas based on nearby post office, traffic and walk time.

d) Streetcheck

Demographics, employment figures from census.

e) Knowhere guide

Local knowledge from young skaters.

f) UK Local Area

Incorporates the deprivation index too.

g) Supermarket map

h) Commute map

A map of towns by commute time.
