The Jobless Recovery 2...

Recommended Posts

I've heard of no end of people loosing their jobs recently.

6 blokes I work with have been let go.

Half a dozen friends are loosing their jobs too !!!

I know of one largish company shutting down soon with approx 150 people going.

1 mate told me today they were having a "meeting" at the end of the week as the company he works for is going bankrupt it seems.

I walk round the town center yesterday and more and more shops were closed/boarded up

This was all pre-brexit.

Is anyone else seeing the same.

No doubt Brexit will get the blame from some.

I've heard of a few people losing their jobs, in particular local authority/council workers being laid off or some instead being put to part-time. This has been going on for at least a year.

See the Aberdeen thread.

The UK is so absolutely ram packed full of bvllshitters it was inevitable.

Oil and gas is only slightly less corrupt & morally bankrupt than is London's financial industry with both cities facing similar problems with the exception of scale.

Not a surprise though is it?

Think about it, we get our real world view in two ways. (simplifying)

(1) real life first hand experience of our own and from people we know

+

(2) mainstream media to fill in the other 99.99%

(1) hasn't changed much in a week

(2) has gone full on DOOM end of world mode

EVERYTHING can now be blamed on ignorant racists voting the wrong way. A lot of people think how they are told to think by their tellies IMO.

For a sense of balance, I saw two advertising posters in town yesterday for vacancies. One was in a Nationwide window (!), for a recruitment evening. The other was outside an elderly care home, inviting people to come in and discuss the number of vacancies they had with staff.

spot on

Its easy to see how much peoples opinions are influenced by what they are told, just question why they believe something, what data they have and you can see there brain freeze especially when you have some data.
