Gove For Chancellor Of The Exchequer?

Recommended Posts

Could we have Putin as leader as well?

What a change it would be to actually have someone highly competent in charge.

Farage for a knighthood? Let's face it, irrespective of which side of this debate one resides. You cant help but admire his tenacity for the past 24 year!

The big question is whether you get a leader who will be brave/foolhardy enough to invoke Article 50 and thus start Brexit (includes the breakup of the uk and some multinational companies pulling out of Britain)

I'm getting the feeling the current contenders will not do this and we will probably need a general election before a clear decision is made. Remember, a referendum is advisory not binding. So our esteemed leaders will require an election mandate before they proceed.

Of course, as always, Boris may surprise us.

If we are just going to ignore a referendum result on a constitutional issue why bother with democracy at all. Parliament is a huge expense which we can live without. Better to just phone Angela Merkel and ask her to supply a Gauleiter. Britain managed for centuries in the Roman Empire with just a Governor, a Procurator Fiscal and a couple of legions. I don't see any need for more than that to rule it as a province of a wider super state. In that scenario national Parliaments are just an expensive luxury.
