Breaking news....

Gove says the EU has to "Change it's approach" for trade talks to continue.

I hope the EU will reply that it will not enter into any communication with the UK government until the UK government agrees to comply with international law.

Doesn't he and Boris look silly right now?

It doesn't matter how you call it, the UK need a deal with the EU.

A no-deal Brexit is simply not an option!

Barnier and Frost have had their chat but Gove not saying talks are back on...yet.

Barnier has now agreed to the UK asks from before the summit - not sure where or when VDL mentioned covering all subjects or going to legal texts on Friday, as he states - but Johnson has gone a bit further since then, saying there needs to be 'fundamental change' in the EU position. Hard for him to climb down but I guess he could say going to texts is enough. If he wants to?

Frost has hinted that the UK is ready to budge on subsidies, but Gove and Johnson have not. The rhetoric from Johnson has been quite tough on Canada...

Looks like the EU have dropped their demand for an office and nameplate in Belfast for their customs team - was seen as provocative by UK. Might now be a group observing UK customs at the ports and airport. And signs that they'll compromise on exit summary declarations too.

UK can say there'll be no new border infrastructure as they'll only be expanding existing port/airport controls.

EU taking the lead to make some progress.

Nail-biting this.

Do we get nothing or do we get next to nothing ?

You what?

Producing a picture of Muhammed, to the extreme a stick man with the name above it harms nobody in the process.. Unlike say producing "kiddy porn".

If someone chooses to find that offensive, then walk away. Where does it stop? Personally I'm not an arsenal fan. Can I ban all associated imagery? What if I call supporting spurs a religion? (we suffer enough).

Vegans would have a field day.. Casual massacre at the KFC, my religion bruv.

"they have to accept the consequences" just like someone who decapitated someone? Good equivalence there... Scary world if we are advocating murder for offending people.

You know what, I don't care. Two people got what they wanted, martyrdom for something they cared about, but I think is pathetically ridiculous.

You know I think I kind of agree with you in a way.  In another 10,000* years all current religions will have died out just like all the religions that came before them so why get all het up about it?

Can really see Biden supporting UK over Ireland in a trade deal.. wait that's not how American politics works.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-54557939

Its not just Biden, both parties in both House will stand up for the GFA. As will Trump.

Its a matter of life and death for any politician in the US, no Irish vote and goodbye...

Bolded your mistake.

?? You are saying Aldi Rump steak isn't "Rump" but another cut? you know i'm an ex chef right who did a college diploma in catering which included a "larder" section, which is fresh meat and fish / shellfish prep. I have butchered (called boning, with a boning knife, very strong thick top edged knife) a side of beef, and full beef fillet, into all steak cuts, Rump, sirloin, fillet Tbone, Ribeye, fille minigon.

You can't beat the flavour of a good, marbled, rump steak.

Yep it's nice meet, it is always cheaper purely becasue of the fact there is a lot more of it per cow, Loin and fillet cuts are much smaller in volume, so more expensive. If you want a really good roast get a Topside cut, it's almost rump steak as it is cut from where the lower rump progresses into the top flank of the rear leg, the round,

They're concerned about a return to violence after imposition of border. The UK won't put up a hard border, deal or no deal.

If Biden gets in it will probably make things easier with the Brit public for the UK govt negotiating any US FTA.

Brexit boomerang effect again. Like all those people saying we mustn't pursue a US deal, now saying it's a disaster we won't get one.

Yes, although a standing rib roast has the edge. More fat, more flavour.

Although Biden has said he'll have nothing to do with the UK if they don't climb down on the NI border issue.

Im not sure people did say/are saying musnt pursue a US deal.

Personally its a potential benefit from a crappy overall picture. To not have a US deal OR an EU deal would be disastrous for Brexit as a policy.

You don't accept that one of the core disgruntled-remainer riffs has been to denigrate any potential US deal over food standards...the endless chlorinated chicken chorus?

There certainly has been a chlorinated chicken chorus, i wouldn't sum that up as "no deal whatsoever" for the vast majority - a loud in volume, small in size guardian reading twitter mob excluded. You see the beauty of being pragmatic, is that you can see a deal is better than no deal.. even better if you negotiate away the food standards on chlorinated chicken.

Rather than say bang on about fish and shout No Deal Better! repeatedly.
