Touch and go. If they are in a recession then it won't last for long.

Domestic demand has been robust all year. If exports have started to pick up again... boom!

Let's hope so. Let's hope Trump doesn't smash German car imports next week.

Meanwhile, we're not in recession and we're set to grow faster than the Eurozone for 2020 and 2021, according to EC statisticians.

And that's despite political chaos and the prospect of the worst decision since the 2nd WW coming into effect.

Crack on then.

Yes.

No.

As a commitment from a previous government it has absolutely no relevance unless the next government decides to get a mandate for it in an election.

The Mandate come from the people....

An interesting bit of insight would be to how well parties have fared in future elections after ignoring referendums or having more referendums until they get the answer they wanted.

Holland 1993, Ireland 2008 and Greece too. I should look into it. If you or anyone else has more info I’m interested.

You can add Catalonia to that list.

Remind us all again how you voted remain. Your posting history dating back beyong the Greek crisis says otherwise, but please do continue to humor us all, and yourself.

Some form of direct democracy would be my favoured solution.

I would be interested in what your idea of that is please? if not some form of proportional represention.

If it turns out that way, then Boris will get his WA through parliament.  The interesting bit comes during the latter part of next year...

Back on topic...

Gina Miller's website should be fully operational on Sunday and providing detailed information on the best way to vote tactically to get the Tories out......        https://www.remainunited.org/

This election, unless you want BJ / Cummings' version of Brexit (whatever that may) be is going to be all about tactical voting.

Not even 1% donated of the desired sum to support that BS.

More philandering than philanthropy 😄

Happy to moan but not put the money where the mouth is.

Why does multimillionaire gina not find it ?

Matt Hancock on BBC News now. Every question evaded (you don't need to know that, just leave it to Boris), unbelievable BS on Brexit, and this joker is in charge the NHS .

"Oven ready deal, get Brexit done", should be oven ready deal, vote tactically, get Tories out.

The interesting part will be when the working class finally wake up and realise their utter stupidity. That will be comedy gold.

Alarmingly Brexit Party on 12% is returning zero MPs, yet SNP with 4% returns 50 MPs. That’s not democratic in my book.

Something along the lines of the Swiss system.

The Swiss system Bruce? You mean like this?

Swiss court orders historic referendum re-run

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-47879777

You'd have to get rid of pretenders like Farage and Johnson and their cronies before we could have anything that really works. You cannot successfully run a country on a diet of bull shit. As we're finding out.

Re-running a flawed referendum has to be the most sensible thing to do.

Of course it is.

You would also have to make lying illegal. It serves nobody except the teller.

Enforce the job of media to hold politicians accountable.

Publish the Russian document too. It's unconscionable that it's being censored by Cummings and Johnson.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Does that cover self deception?

Are you saying there is no strategy in the Brexit HQ? That people like Cummings hasn't poured over propaganda techniques used by authoritarian and totalitarian regimes? That they are not using manipulation profiling techniques used by companies like Cambridge Analytica?

Bit of a stretch Crouch. You really need to stop finding ways to forgive these vermin.
