So everyone is happy except the people who aren't happy?

You need to keep up. I said everyone was excited. The suppliers, farmers fish mongers are happy.

Not me. People are going to be worse off and some are going to lose their jobs.  Nothing to be excited about.

Everyone except the the naysayers and doom mongers, but folk like that have been around since time immemorial, so you can't really include them. They would moan if they won the lottery.

Even BJ would be hard pressed to make a more idiotic statement .

Just a statement of fact. Before the internet they used to wear banners and walk the streets claiming the end is nigh, sometimes getting in your way. Actually, a bit like Extinction Rebellion now I think about it.

The problem is that in a representative democracy they say what the people want to hear, get elected, then do what they damn well want with impunity.

Like "we'll respect the results of a referendum"?

Think about what that means.

It's not the same as "we will implement the result of the referendum".

That sounds to me like the sort of body we were looking for when we were seeking help to protect our shipping in the Straits of Hormuz.

I bet they wouldn't use it for that.  The EU EPF budget is no doubt spoken for already.

They know full well what they are going to use it for, and it won't be for Britain's benefit, of that you can be sure.

Really quite extraordinary phenomena. If only we were just observers and not participants.

Ah but remember according to postmodern thought there is no absolute truth...she was telling HER truth about those figures, based upon her female intuition...so it's OK.

Apparently.
