Only if we revoke Article 50

Correct, in fact surely a bigger chance of no deal happening now. Clearly the deal isn’t going to be voted through. If we ask the Eu to extend we need to have all members to agree, not sure how likely this is now and what possible reason we would give them. If we go for a 2nd referendum which again is unlikely as there is no appetite as it shows that the government doesn’t keep it promises. I really do think we just go out on no deal because no one can agree on anything. I think this is being overlooked hugely.

It sounds like they're planning for the worst uncertainty, which is good to see. Longer term, new suppliers and opportunities will present themselves.

The UK has a number of sports car companies, with manufacturing tethered here. Lotus, Morgan, Caterham - 2 of which have had recent adventures into Formula 1.

There is a lot of talent for designing sports cars here, along with many motorsport companies.

Your glib 'what UK car industry' comment just seems rather shallow.

You conveniently miss out Norway 1.0/2.0 which would likely gain a majority with parliment and with the public at large...

That's up to your side to decide, in advance of the referendum, so we don't end up in a mess again.

it should be the eu.s motto really they.ve done it often enough ....

vote again until you give the right answer.

i suppose may is showing herself as a true supprter of what they stand for.

No deal now off the table.

Vote on possible small A50 extension tomorrow.

May going for 3rd vote on her deal.

More time for political arguing in between themselves will be not good enough reason for small A50 extension.

And ERG will sink May's deal 3th time as well.

And then, remain we go! Revoking Article 50.

I think I am slowly being proved correct. Along with James O'Brien.

The referendum was a close call and even in the two years that have passed the demographic has shifted away from leave and towards remain voters...I voted leave but am not blinkered enough to not question whether it is fair to press on.

you are ignoring the fact that all the shouting has been from one side.

i.m not convinced a new ref would give a different result. it would be 50-50 again so either side could edge it but the idea that theres been a massive shift is just loud propaganda from remainers.

question for remainers: if a new ref required 60% majority to overturn ref1 with a immediate  fixed date leave guaranteed by law if  not won. would you support that and accept the result this time?

that question will either be ignored by those claiming a massive shift or excuses will come why only 50% should be required. iow they dont even believe in the massive shift themselves.

Another ERG MP saying he won't vote for May's deal

Baker said no just a few moments ago too. Now its conservative ERG lawmaker Francois says Brexit deal is not becoming more attractive.

  • says would not back may's Brexit vote in third meaningful vote
  • says May's deal means we do not leave the EU

forexlive

It looks like ERG want just chaos, not a deal.

Pound ROCKETS against the euro and dollar after MPs vote to rule out no-deal

The pound surged on currency markets tonight after MPs voted against a no-deal Brexit, making a delay more likely.

Sterling rocketed to almost €1.18, up nearly two per cent, following two Commons votes to rule out a cliff-edge exit in any circumstances.

The currency surged as investors' fears of a chaotic no-deal exit diminished and the chance that Brexit could be cancelled altogether appeared to rise.

Daily Mail

That's very positive news, the confidence is growing again.

What is Brexit?

Combination of the word British and exit.

Not strictly correct since the sovereign entity is the UK, the use of the word British leaves out Northern Ireland...that's irony for you!

Its the process where the population of the UK voted to leave the EU and their allotted representatives (UK being a representative democracy) didn't agree with that instruction, never accepted it and ultimately did what the hell they liked...which is to ignore it.

Rather than resulting in the UK exiting the EU it will eventually open the door to a Government of extreme left and or right wing parties which will result in more catastrophic and dire consequences for the UK and the EU, but these will be farther into the future so are not of concern to our short sighted politicians.

If everyone is honest with themselves, practically no one in the house actually wants a Brexit of any kind.

Mogg and Borris are in the total minority.  May's a fooking remainer too.

And as for democracy, we have never had democracy.  All we have is a chance to vote in a different set of puppets who do the bidding of the bent financial system and the entitled elite.

So we can all forget any arguments about "going against democracy" if Brexit is kicked into touch.
