This banging on about remainers is starting to get comical howler - give it a rest.

This episode of the saga is I think more centred on the curious story of Brexiters voting down Mays deal. Or allegedly at any rate. If they really carry out their threat it would be quite extraordinary. Although tbf Conservative remainers voting against it would also be just as fascinating.

I disagree. They don't like May's deal because it's too soft. But it's still leaving, so they get something and their goose isn't quite cooked. They're a sideshow to distract from the main event, which is the end of remain if May's deal passes.

Remaining in the customs union indefinitely, but with no vote, is not leaving in my book.

In that case they overplay it and alienated the Brexit deal.

It will be not easily digested by Tory voters, especially the hard ones.

Well I never, the ECJ are going to give their ruling the day before the meaningful vote...puts to rest all those worries that the ECJ might have a political/partisan agenda...

Could this send GD's pony cantering over the meadow? Or will they drop a bombshell and say we can't revoke unilaterally, to shore up May's deal?

That's just the backstop, might never happen and it's years away.

Bird in the hand, Banner, it might be the best you're going to get.

The possibility of it happening is unacceptable.

The best we're going to get? You sound like Theresa May.

I would prefer no deal, or remain, to this deal.

No deal can't happen - unless we go to GE and the Brexit loon comes in, and they'll probably sell you out anyway - and remain doesn't solve the problem of the ref.

You have no idea what is going to happen if May's deal tanks.

At least with May's deal you would no longer be a member state, no FOM, limited ECJ and chance to negotiate something better.

It would be interesting, but I'm expecting us to remain.

Yes, May's Brexit deal is one option - not acceptable for majority.

The second option is revoke A50 - not acceptable for majority Tories and their voters.

And very unlikely option no deal Brexit - acceptable only for extreme Brexiters.

They are now between a rock and a hard place without escape route.

I tend to agree with you on this one......but......it seems that now Brexit has been defined.... and it's probably 'the best that we can get'.......it does not appear popular to MP's or the public..... so what is the point of it other than it allows the ref result to be honoured?

I am not trivialising the importance of the last point... I am just stating that that appears to be it's only function.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.... strange world.

Maybe it's not his first language - in which case I think he is doing a splendid job and making some great observations.

Your last point is uncalled for.

Conservative MP's 315 - 48 = 267.

48 MP's is not enough, they are 110 MP's short and they need 158 or more.

Can you show me, how did you work out your possibility?

It's 48 MPs to trigger the vote. Then the possibility is that others decide that May isn't good at elections so use the opportunity to replace her.
