That's amazing bit of shooting skill and an understatement if ever I saw one. You would think, before they put it into print, they would query such a statement - and realise one of those two parts of the sentence must be absolutely wrong. One shot fired? Then hardly likely 20+ will be injured? (or it's an amzing case of ricochet!) 20+ injured? Then many shots must have been fired (giving an indication as to the class of weapon being used) Not sure which of them it is?
