Pole
For the first time in the UK's television history a Polish TV series (subtitled in English) will be broadcast nationally. Tonight at 10pm on Channel4. Thought I would give you a heads-up. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-border

Steppenpig
How many episodes is it? You realise we wont be allowed to watch it after Friday if we vote brexit?: That's if we survive the plague and nuclear fallout.

happy_renting
There are 6 episodes. 6... Yeah. That's how it always starts. Soon that trickle will be a tsunami and there will be thousands of Polish episodes at our borders clamouring to get in.

BBC TV becomes BBSKI Telewizja. And the Queen changes her name to Elżbieta Windzorska.

raindog
I was a bit surprised last time I was dragged into Primark by the missus to hear a staff announcement in Polish.

Pole
I work with Polish dentists whose registration says they can't speak their own language to their Polish patients. Interesting. I viewed my visits to a UK dentist as an opportunity to extend my vocabulary (amongst other things!).

It would make more sense if M&S did that, since they were set up by a Pole!
Scunnered
I work with Polish dentists whose registration says they can't speak their own language to their Polish patients. Something similar happened in Lidl in Kirkcaldy: Lidl Polish workers banned from speaking own language But a week later, Lidl performs U-turn over Polish language ban
ccc
Interesting. I viewed my visits to a UK dentist as an opportunity to extend my vocabulary (amongst other things!). What the ****** does your dentist do !! My mouth tends to be wide open and not in a position for a chat when I visit.
Pole
What the ****** does your dentist do !! My mouth tends to be wide open and not in a position for a chat when I visit. I usually speak to them about any issue first. Gums, fillings, extractions, anaesthetic, hard deposits, etc. - all of them were alien words (until I HAD to know them!)
