Cherie Blair - Fighting Against Big Government

Recommended Posts

This makes me sick.

Cherie Blair, whose husband Tony created almost one new law for every day in office, railed against “big government” while supporting landlords in their judicial review of recent buy-to-let changes.

“United together, we can challenge the big government that is doing things to us which are unfair… I have a secret passion for homes under the hammer. And you know, time after time you see them interviewing people on that programme, and they are ordinary, decent people who have a little bit of money and have decided to try and use that wisely to provide for themselves and their families. I would have thought they were just the sort of people that a Conservative government would want to support”

Savour the buy-to-let landlord Cherie Blair bashing big government while lauding the Conservatives for naturally supporting “ordinary, decent people”. This would never have happened under Maggie, or Tony for that matter…

Jesus Christ - of course the ordinary decent people who are saving for just ONE SINGLE HOME don't deserve any kind of tax relief or assistance from Cherie Blair.

Homes under the hammer where you get to watch a numpty buy a property they haven't seen and over bid on. Saw one the other week where someone bought a run down shop for over 30k spent another 30k+ renovating it given a break even sales figure at which point they said it was worth another 10k to justify themselves.

Why be productive when we can just bid up property values in perpetually.

I guess the £26bn each and every year subsidies to landlords via housing benefit isnt 'big government'

Or the various other schemes to prop them up.

Just when you thought the Bliars couldnt get more evil...rent seeking is bad, govt sponsored rent seeking. Its just sick.

Are any of the wealthy actually decent? I thought The Eavis Glastonbury bloke was at least OK...turns out we must vote REMAIN lest farmers (landowners, theyre the ones who get subsidies) go bust. For decades we've been told subsidies impoverish third world farmers, and landowners here can use their land for other schemes, now none of that matters...farmers need their new Range Rover every other year.

Did she mention Iraq and her husband being all deeply religious and moral and all that.

Makes me sick, too, vile - she buys BTL flats like Imelda Marcos bought shoes.

"they are ordinary, decent people who have a little bit of money and have decided to try and use that wisely to provide for themselves and their families."

Just like you and Tones, right, Chezza?

You forgot the wife's BMW too.

I've met a few north Yorkshire farmers. Poor they are not.

At the last count, a whopping 2% of UK adults were landlords...just 'ordinary people', right?

If it was the EVIL 1%, that would be totally different...but because its a whole 1% above that, its 'ordinary'

A lot more people suffered due to Bliar/Browns scrapping of the dividend tax credit and other pension thefts...but I guess they werent normal? For a start they were likely invested in productive businesses, not rent-seeking ponzi's.

She can't be that stupid having done so well in her chosen career. Her greed literally blinds her and her husband to their base motives and how they must come across to most ordinary people.

That and a total lack of understanding of basic economics. (EDIT: I felt moved to alter my signature in Cherie's honour).

Wasnt clinton today going on about being broke (while wearing a $12,000 coat)

Bliars remind me so much of the clintons. You could literally harvest litres of smarm off Bills nose alone, though Tone's forehead gives him a run for his money.

Guess we should at least be glad Cherie doesnt have Hillarys political ambitions.

The same probably gets said about drug dealers......

With all their wealth and power you'd think maybe just maybe they'd make an attempt to do some good for this nation or even be on the side of those who are on the wrong side of the wealth divide, as they're socialists after all!

But not a chance, she has managed to be as ugly on the inside as she is on the outside which is an almost impossible task. When Maggie died and those people were drinking champagne a celebrating i thought they were sad, but i think i'll raise a glass to the demise of these 2 utterly repulsive excuse for humans..

I've felt that way since he first grinned his way onto the world stage and she did her "Auld Lang Syne" thing with The Queen at the Millennium Dome on 1/1/2000. Nice to see that I'm no longer in a minority.

Cameron is a different kettle of fish. I was, to my shame, completely taken in by that joker :(.

I was taken in by Blair, born in the North East and only ever lived under a Tory government until aged 22 so had it drilled into me from a young age (not by my parents) that Tories were evil and Labour were the saviour, how naive and wrong was I.

But Cameron always came across as a smug #### i was on the side of David Davis, would still like him to be leader i bet we'd have a better nation if he as in charge and we'd be out the EU.

Me too, but I was not too disappointed when Cameron emerged the victor, how wrong could I be.

Once they get the scent of power their principles disappear. Like all the political elite.

I wonder if he tries to avoid hell by becoming a philanthropist routing his BTL gains to the homeless. Even the almighty will see through it. There is only one place they are going. When he is knocking on the door of hell he will say, but what about those youngsters I housed, and the devil will say f??? You matey you're mine for eternity.

Ok .. I am badly hung over on Friday evening - and this has made it even worse.

I live reasonably near the blairs - maybe I'll go down and ask how it is in the village and then flip them the bird. At the very least getting shot would probably help the general malaise and awful headache.

Please, please don't hate me but I think if Corbyn promised to imprison Blair I would vote for him.
