Will Your House Be Worth More In 2006?

Recommended Posts

I'm an STR too and desperate for HPC but the fact is HBOS did predict a fall for 2005

HBOS

For the sake of the credibility of the group, posters really should verify the facts.

For what it is worth, my gut feeling is that Capital Economics are now spot on predicting a 5% fall.

Sadly, I don't recall any forecaster getting the upwards or downwards predictions "spot on" during the last boom/bust nor this one.

Nice piece in the DT today speculating that CE's change of sentiment could be the high profile "bear capitulation" that marks the point when the bears view become reality. a la Pete Dye and internet stocks in 2000.

If forecasters could have predicted the magnitude and duration of the rises in HPs then I would have more confidence in their same predictions of no falls/stagnation/mild falls.

Pete Dye was right in the end just 2-3 yrs early. His funds avoided the 80%+ drops in stock prices when the NASDAQ/Techmark crashed.

Surrey Cash Buyer,

Please accept my apologies, you are correct.

Need to get my glasses checked!
