Us State Department Warns Citizens Of Terrorism Attack Risk Across Europe This Summer, Including At Euro 2016

Recommended Posts

Pal was saying he reckons drones laden with explosives will be the next plan.

Could be onto something. How do you protect against that threat ? Almost impossible.

Well these are both fine - until you attach explosives to the thing.

Heard it on the radio this afternoon.

Also something about staying out of public areas throughout europe. That is the whole of europe not just France.

So holidaying in europe pretty much hit for six. It must be one of the benefits of diversity.

When the US state department says 'across Europe' that includes the UK. ;)

Well, the risk is there. Not sure that Euro would be a good target (heavily policed). I guess we've not too long to find out...

It's the challenge.

If they can succeed with all that security - they prove that nobody is safe - anywhere. Job done on their part.

Nobody is safe anyway, far more people die every day in traffic accidents and nobody seems to care about that.

For some reason white Europeanspeople who die in 'terrorist' attacks seem to be more valuable than people who are murdered for other reasons, such as half a million innocent civilians who died in Iraq as a consequence of the illegal war started by Bush and Bliar.

Fair point.

Apart from the clear terrorist issue and risk of widespread assaults issue one also questions whether there's something else motivating the bbc announcement to stay away from public areas in the whole of europe (to include the UK).

Something like stay indoors so that the bbc can subject everyone to their propaganda and don't go outside to assemble and congregate to discuss the referendum? Make it difficult to conduct broad based on the spot polls about the referendum? Maybe it's just another crooked corporate TV ploy to get everyone to stay indoors and fork out to watch the footie ;)

That tends not to be the modus operandi of 'Islamic terrorism' - but who knows what the next approach will be.

Seems unlikely, the payload capacity of your average consumer RC drone is measured in ounces and even the commercial drones being trialed by the likes of DHL are only 2-5 pounds, which might be enough to ruin one or two peoples day, but it isn't going to yield the kind of mass casualties our bearded friends are interested in.

I'm still getting bumper sales on En-ga-land tat, yay. - might have spectacularly underestimated demand though by the looks of it.

Interesting. Never realised they were quite so feeble.

Been saying it for months - Euro 16 will be mental. Immigrants V. Northern European hooligans. With a bit of terrorism thrown in for good measure

I think thats why the French Police want to close the "Fan Zone" 90,000 Fans congregated in an area to watch the games on the big screens etc

doesn't bode well for migrants v holigans v terror risk does it?

England + Russia + Marseille + immigrants = potential bloodbath.
