spacedin Posted May 20, 2016 Share Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) 80% of Brits would be happy to quit UK for RUSSIA after Putin offers free land ALMOST eight out of 10 citizens would seriously considering quitting Britain and emigrating to Russia, a poll by Express.co.uk has revealed. Nearly 80% of people who responded for our poll said they were considering moving to Russia Disillusioned by life in modern Britain, 78% of more than 22,000 respondents replied “Yes! Bargain” to the question “Would you move to Russia in exchange for free land?” The revelation came after it was revealed that Russian president Vladimir Putin is offering 2.5 acres of land for free to people willing to move to the country’s Siberian wilderness in a bid to boost the area’s economy. The scheme has captured the imagination of the British public, many of whom have been seduced by the area’s stunning natural beauty as well as Mr Putin’s no-nonsense leadership style. Simon Sharp told Express.co.uk: "As soon as I read about it my wife and I discussed it. "There's a certain amount of romanticism. The idea of going back to nature in such a remote area. It would be down to us to test our mettle. "There's also definitely disillusionment with the UK, with British life. We're all subservient, we won't know what's going on." He also cited "the change in demographics and seeing rural areas change with urbanisation" as reasons for considering the move." Another respondant to the poll said: “I like Vladimir Putin even more now. Ah, to be 30 years younger. I would be on my way there now.” Others pointed to the upcoming EU referendum and a possible vote against Brexit as motivation to make the move 500 miles east to ‘the land where ice meets fire.’ One person said: “It would be a lot better then living under Cameron's and Corbyn’s EU law.” Another added: “Thank you for your kind offer Mr Putin, if we do not get out of the EU many may be taking up your offer in the future.” A still from a promotional video produced by the Russian government about the land scheme Mr Putin is also seen as an attractive president for British citizens to live under – and his approval ratings are soaring - a stark contrast to leaders in Britain. While fewer than 35 percent of people support Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, Mr Putin commands an 82 percent approval rating in Russia - the highest it has ever been. Despite Siberia's stunning natural beauty, some people were put off by having bears as neighbo However, not everyone saw the proposal as an attractive prospect. Many blanched at the temperatures, which can drop to -47 degrees celsius, or found the dual threat of clouds of mosquitoes in summer or hungry bears in winter a little too much. BUT you have nut jobs like zhirinovsky waiting in the wings in russia if things go a bit tits-up with one trick pony petro-economies. we've generally been on reasonable terms with russia,even though we don't see eye to eye, we can usually find a bit of common ground.....like vs kaiser wilhem in ww1, and hitler in ww2....maybe erdogan this time around. , sure, but they have not yet laid to rest to bogeyman of socialism.(putin's points about corporatism are valid,and should be heeded) under putin they're making progress. under medvedev, I think also likewise...he's a guy you can have a bit of cordial banter with. trump v zhirinovsky is a truly frightening prospect. neither will budge, and they both fancy themselves as the pub bruiser. only way out of that without everything turning into charcoal briquettes is for them both to agree on a common pain in the @rse..like the mad mullahs in chechnya/pakistan/iran that they need to get rid of. Bet the kunts will want the free land and to rent out their UK home, as well as keeping their BTLs. Bet they'll soon whine if Putin wants some of that tasty hard currency in the way of taxes, but hopefully Putin is decent about it and sends them off to the gulag for re-education instead of deporting them back here. Then get a job lot of 2.5acres together, say 25acres total, build a block of high density executive siberian studio apartments, and just rent em out innit. It sounds tongue-in-cheek but the initial thoughts with so many people really will be 'great - sit on the asset for x years and I'll be able to retire on the proceedings'. Well the response was laughter. I asked why... The land on offer is in Sakhalin/Khabarovsk areas and a few others. There is nothing there. Bare scrub land. No roads to speak of, no services, jobs, etc etc. It's akin to being in US in the wild frontier way back when. The land will/is poor quality and not good enough or big enough to farm... Then throw in the climate, bears etc. It's just a gimmick! If the Russians aren't interested, can you imagine how the Brits would cope!!?? Seriously, where's the aspiration and true economic recovery in the present setup coming from? Most of them probably haven't been out of surbiton and don't even know what is really going on in the UK. Russia is quite big in fact it's bigger than Pluto. Surely there must be some good bits even in the deserts to which they are trying to tempt people to live. Supposedly Zhirinovsky is simply there as a plant of the Kremlin to sound extreme so putin is the voice of moderation. It makes sense. No one I talk to has anything good to say about Cameron. But virtually everyone seems to have voted for him because he is portrayed as a centrist, a moderate. A lot of people think Parties like UKIP or the greens split the right and left.
