The Adverts Thread - (Do We Have One?)

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing that the right-hand one isn't really advertising luxury apartments for 49,995 and that the figure in front of that is, er, hmm, Luton town centre - is it a 2? Surely not a 1, that would be soooo 2006!

My bad! Truncated pic, It shows 149 - for a studio I should imagine. I liked the explicit advert to BOMAD, hence the post :)

Oh my god but to my poor addled brain that seems like an extraordinary bargain, I'll take two! A luxury studio apartment in central Luton for just three times what I've managed to save in the past 10 years by working my erse off. It's all my dreams come true.

Seriously, tho, something with a 1 in front of it just looks retro at this point. I know it's not but in that same way that some old mobile phones look like they're from the 70s...

Edit - BOMAD - yes, foregone conclusion that their kids won't be able to buy a flat but MAD might just be persuaded to literally bet the house on one.

Good, we need some more losers in the forthcoming crash!

Good point about the price being 3x what you have saved in 10 years, and you have done well to save £50k! Totally shows these prices for what they are. Made up numbers detached from the realities of the working economy .

£149,995 + for a studio - in Luton??? Makes Norwich house prices seem reasonable.

Note the advert's aimed at parents with cash to burn. Good luck getting your £ back on it once your sprog is fed up of living there?

Yep, hence my interest. Also the first pic is aimed at elderly with I/O mortgages.... the thread purpose was not so much "overpriced sh*tholes" - hpc has a thread for those I think - but for ads targeting spin-offs of the madness if that makes sense :)
