Someone is about to notice the lack of clothes

7BljCb8.png

8 MILLION pounds.

3 bedrooms

And the only photo is of a derelict building and some cranes

Jesus wept.

Some of these property offers remind me of traders doubling up their margin in the face of calls, dreaming of that one big win that'll clear their debts and move them back into the black. I think we all know how that dream ends.

Didn't they buy the whole thing a few years back for 5mill?

I'd be surprised if anyone pays anything to live in a knackered old power station. Not sure who'd be so dumb? Certainly not the Russians.

I misread the price on the listing as £800k (I think my brain would not let me see £8m as it just made no sense) and it still seemed massively expensive.

This does look like the very very top of the pinnacle atop a very high pinnacle with some coat hangers on old straws stuck on for extra height.

My prediction is that the project will not be finished, and will go bust. Some lucky "investors" may be left holding a piece of paper saying they have reserved their off plan apartment for a relatively small loss, and anyone that manages to get one on early completion will be well and truly stuffed - basically looking like a 1970s Spanish timeshare, but without the sun.

Impossible to call the top - the type of buyer of this level (wives of oil barons, etfc) of the pass the parcel "game", will think, I must buy this big poker chip, it'll be worth £16m in 5 years.

Not so sure, word is on the street is that deposits are being lost en masse as prospective buyers pull out. Also I pass by the Power Station regularly on the train and significant parts of the old structure which are meant to be restored are still missing.

Yes I noticed that the other day...each time I see it, more of it seems to be removed

The UK is asking for trouble. On the one hand, property values are well in excess of the CRAZY levels we saw in 2007 ... successive governments have spent HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS on propping the housing market up. On the other hand, the UK is shell of its former self: cutbacks in the armed forces, police and local services, NHS services that are shockingly bad in certain areas, and roads that look like something out of a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY.

The Emperor's New Clothes are becoming more apparent by the day!
