'greedy' Landlord Who Put 'profit Before Safety' Is Jailed

Recommended Posts

HMO slumlord with previous was fined £10,000 here in Southampton last week.

(with a £490 victim surcharge)

No fire doors, no smoke alarms, no HMO licence.

One of those people who think the rules don't apply to them.

I toasted him with half a bottle of Bacardi.

Did he get to keep the HMO?

" 'Greedy' landlord who put 'profit before safety' is jailed"

Who'd want to be a landlord...you can now go to jail just fir treating renter scum like, well, scum.

His biggest mistake was threatening the Fire Brigade.

19 months bang up & £13,820 court costs! that's a good one.

I didn't know it was possible to go to prison except for mistreating humans or animals. Guess it must have been the altercation with firefighters that did it as some of them probably weren't renters.

Landlords really can't win sometimes. Putting safety first costs money, where do these people think the money is going to come from?? LET ME GUESS... The magic landlord money tree? (laughing) I'm sure if I were to carry out all the 'relevant safety checks' which these people are all of a sudden experts on, my tenants would suddenly not want to pay the increased rent to cover all these so called essentials. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander I say.

There must be hundreds of thousands of similar cases lined up to be processed by the legal system? The fine is the most important point for the authorities as these days the authorities are desperate to dredge up as much money as possible the UK economy is so wrecked.

BtLers are almost as easy a target as the average motorist - sitting targets. They should sell now and sell fast.

If you can't afford to comply with running a business then don't attempt to do it! Simple business logic!!!!
