Private Eye Map And Report Re: Offshore Uk Investment.

Recommended Posts

That's brilliant!

In my area there is a St. Martins based investment company buying up the shittest housing you've ever seen. Not enough to distort prices locally, but amusing nonetheless.

Is anyone else seeing entires for the purchase of "Airspace above 29 Acacia Avenue" by companies called Solarflair Investments or similar? I'm assuming that's something to do with those solar panel deals where you get them for free. But in most cases, the purchase price is listed as being about £100k, so not quite sure what that's all about?

One of my local Co-Op supermarkets is housed in a building registered in the BVI. Lease runs until after 2030 too! Ker-ching!

Edit in all seriousness, is SNACR about to comment, would appreciate a view. Does 240k/annum rent, with a couple of percent upward annual revisions throughout the next 20 years seem even remotely reasonable for this:

Co-op acquired it with the Somerfield takeover. The area is deprived, the store itself is a windowless harshly-lit shed reminiscent of the type of place that was around 30 years ago, Fine Fare etc. All that's missing is the big pile of cardboard boxes to jump in by the tills.
