There was a time, not so long ago, when someone spending a million GBP on a house would consider that to be borderline worthy of a space for one of the servants to store their bicycles.

Has a small space in London really become that much more valuable or has the money required to buy it simply become all but worthless?

No, it's fraud and speculation...pure and simple. The evil ***ts who have allowed this to happen and backed it should be strung up.

£1mill for a studio...that has to be a mistake.

If this is true and not a listing error, the crash is already here! :)

Well there is a listing for a studio at 1.2M, but there is no floor plan for that one so maybe its ~60sqm rather than ~50sqm?

They are watching you... dead soulless eyes in the darkness, peering out lusting after commission and twigs in vases.

This one is £1.4m ..... still with a bed in the lounge!

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/new-homes-for-sale/property-49714405.html

That's not a flat - it is a hotel room.

Assume whoever buys it is not a total financial muppet (sorry, of course they are) and expect 7% yield.

You are looking at rental of £98k per annum. Add on a bit for service charges (£5k?) and you are up to a rental of £8,500 per month.

I am sure I could get a pretty decent hotel room, long term, for £285 per night.

I know I could get a suite on a cruise ship for less than £2k per week - and that would include all food, cleaning, booze etc.

The price seems perfectly reasonable to me

That's the same as the OP one, but on the ground floor instead so might explain the extra £300k cost.

So, 48 square metres for £1.4M = £30k SqM. + Annual Service Charge. Ouch!

It's clearly ludicrous.

What seems obvious to us seems a great investment to others.

Go figure.

Tulips anyone ?

They don't even have a bath there!

And it's not like they even had to build them - the building was already there!

Fair price is probably £30k for the whole flat (the same as they are asking per sq m).

Let's be generous and double it because it's London..

£60k. That's all it's worth.

ooh the estate agents are getting clever - both links taken offline so we can't piss ourselves at the overpricing.

Anyone keep a copy they can permalink to?

£1.4m link still works for me.

May be the price is for the whole block? )

If you use the property tracker app and go to Rightmove and search for all properties in sw8, it is so hilarious.

Not too many drops but the ones that have dropped, have done so by about 10 percent.

What's more interesting is how the top end is just full of these identikit new builds that no-one seems to be touching and what's laughable is the way a few properties have even seen a price increase ( oh yeah, it ain't selling so let's jack up the price to show how valuable it really is!)

You better not laugh, you better not cry,

You better take your losses, cos I'm telling you guys;

HPC is coming. To Towwwn!
