Facebook Refuse To Take Down Dodgy Paedophile Secret Groups

Recommended Posts

I suspect that Facebook is instructed to leave these groups alone by intelligence services, so that they can be more easily monitored and traced. Same with some terrorism-related groups

Given the closeness of Jimmy Savile to the monarchy and Prime Minister I'm certain the intelligence services have absolutely no interest in is bringing paedophiles to justice.

Unless justice is a private members club staffed by underage nymphos.

That has put me off wanting a Facebook Profile. Previous to your "revelation" I wanted to tell everyone what I had on my toast for breakfast each day, and where! Actually I have never touched Facebook.

Careful now........

Don't let the cat out of the bag..... <_<

90% of the problem the authorities have is finding these perverts... Faceache provide a nice little portal where they all congregate one one place and can easily be observed, catalogued and traced when required..

Social media is the Intelligence Officers comfort zone, it makes their jobs so much easier.

No facebook profile?! Very suspicious. So what is it that you have got to hide Mr Pin?

Deleted my Facebook in 2010 haven't looked back. Unfortunately even if you don't have an account you still get to hear about all the problems it creates...

I went to see Spotlight on Tuesday. It's a great film, and one of the things it does very well is convey the emotional damage suffered by victims of child sexual abuse. I'm ashamed to say that I'd become a bit blasé about it all given the recent massive paedophile witch-hunt.

The odd thing is that I know two people who have done prison time having been caught with child abuse images on their computers, and I don't have any reason at all to believe that either of them have ever engaged in actual child abuse. One is a friend of a friend whose promising career as a doctor evaporated when his coke habit got out of control and they started looking into him, and the other was a teacher at my school who was arrested while he was on a field trip- IIRC he'd made the classic mistake of dropping his laptop off at a major chain to get fixed without wiping it. I only know as my mum was a teacher at my school, and stayed on long after I left. This guy was the lead teacher on an 'outward bound' sort of course when I was 12 going on 13. I was the only kid bored and fed up enough to pull myself across a crappily rigged up zip line across a creek, with muddy water running down my arm. As I got to dry land dragging the cord that then pulled all the lazy kids over, he lifted me off the zip line; I could have climbed down myself but I appreciated the gesture as I was covered in mucky water and generally fed up. No sexual touching occurred, even though you'd think that thta was a classic opportunity.

Mr Rave, I think some people might fantasise about things they will never do! I worked with a bloke who was banged up for a while for distributing "dodgy images" from a secret web site. He was a danger only to himself. It made legal history. Where should the line be drawn?

Only myself! It's called "privacy", and I like it. I'm still getting spam after two years after buying a washing machine from a company I may never use again. They were excellent BTW, and I would be happy to buy another appliance off them, although I don't want one just yet! So their "special offers" do not interest me. And it just clutters my mailbox, so I have to look hard for personal messages.

The kids in the pictures aren't computer graphics though. They are real kids somewhere in the world whose lives are ruined.

Yes, but by somebody else.

I know of (but don't know so only know what I have heard) two blokes who lost their jobs and were criminalized despite per the press reports zero direct contact with children. One worked at the same co as me but not at the same time, lost his job and ended up homeless, one was a near-neighbour to whom I'd said hello to a couple of times (I barely saw him, shift-worker) again lost his job and home.

It seems disproportionate to me. Certainly come down hard on the actual abusers but who have these guys actually harmed that justified destroying their lives? Yes they shouldn't have done it but surely a confidential police caution and a ?ten year internet ban is proportionate.

The other thing is that some are computer graphics, it's been linked on here a couple of times that one bloke had his name dragged through the press and was punished for assembling a collection of obscene images of The Simpsons, yes the cartoon.

In a world where muggers get suspended sentences when they gave caused actual harm it does seem to be a mad modern witch hunt. Similar to the Yewtree stuff: let Savile commit horrendous crimes for decades and quash any complaint when he was alive, and then swing round to putting "Dr" Fox in the dock for kissing an ?18 yo fan that actually asked to be kissed!

This is the BBC reporting. In the recent past (last year) they've got their knickers in a twist about such things as the horror of Japanese authorities failing to clamp down on cute girlies featuring in manga and anima (cartoons). The beeb said facebook took some of the stuff they complained about down: what's the betting the stuff they didn't take down was the perfectly innocent school panto (with, not least, the amazing sexual imagery of the pantomime boy and dame)?

There's a whole world of difference between doing actual abuse, and looking at pictures of it. I don't think the law sees the difference. I might think about doing abstract sex with the tea lady, but it won't actually happen. Does my thought make me a rapist?

...yet they've taken down images of breastfeeding mothers. What's that all about? ?

Paedophiles use secret Facebook groups to swap images

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35521068

I very much doubt that Facebook would permit paedophile imagery to be published even in a private area anymore than mainstream pornographic sites would allow it. One suspects the content is more likely the usual collection of twenty something sex film actresses dressed up as school girls acting out the tired old fantasies of their target audience. I am not a Facebook member but I assume their rules on nudity, breast feeding pic etc relate to public content.

As for the woman complaining about her photographs of her child posted on her blog being "stolen" and being leched over by perverts she obviously doesn't have the first clue about the risks of using the internet and why people should exercise the same sort of caution there as they would in a town street or crossing a public road. The fact is that if you post anything publicly on the internet it will be copied multiple times and the only control you have is via DRM and copyright both of which require money and know-how to enforce.

The pictures may not have been taken with pornographic intent. If a parent allows a child to be used as a model in a clothing catalogue by a company like Littlewoods and the pictures are subsequently salivated over by paedophiles getting their jollies elsewhere on the internet who is responsible for exposing the child to that risk. Clearly, the sites where the perverts gather can be taken down but the source material is still available. Ultimately it is trying to police what is going on in people's heads which is probably impossible. The fact is humans can make almost anything into a "dirty book" if they have a mind to do it.

People in Holland are getting knocks on the door from the police for writing critical things on facebook about the "newcomers".

It's not like the company is impartial to handing over people's data.

But they take down a picture of a woman licking an ice cream because it looks like fellatio.

From the opera "Fellatio and cunniligus" I assume.
